Linux

We mention Linux a lot but we never mentioned what it is Linux is a Unix based kernel that’s open source but you can just download Linux you have to find a distribution like Ubuntu, centos, redhat, debain, and fedora there pretty different but deep down they’re still Linux. Linux also has desktops like gnome, KDE plasma, and mate but you can still get a good old kernel with some of the core or server distribution and in the desktop open the terminal. Thanks for reading this post on eddy4ai.com please come back or donate, Edward.

Windows vista development

Windows vista isn’t the best windows release but once you know all the work that went into it, you might think that it should be a amazing release or you might feel bad for the Microsoft developers but we can get into that later now let’s start from the beginning.

Fedora Linux

One of the most popular Linux Distributions is Fedora Linux that’s probably one of the earliest distributions the project start in 2002 today fedora 33 and fedora 34 beta is in development. Currently fedora 34 beta is the first version of Linux to use gnome 40 with the exception of gnomeOS. The fedora development started in 2002 and fedora 15 was the first version to use gnome 3 and fedora 34 will be the first version to use gnome 40 and fedora was one of the first version of desktop Linux to support the raspberry’s CPU. Unfortunately I only tested fedora 34 and no other version on real hardware but I tested fedora 34 for the gnome 40 post. Please come back eddy4ai.com or donate, Thanks, Edward.

Gnome 40

In this blog we talk a lot about Linux and one of the reasons is that Linux is the future of IOT(Internet of things) witch can include AI but Linux doesn’t have to be just a command line they’re desktops in fact they’ve were around 25 years ago the first of witch KDE but we’re here to inform you about gnome 40. You might not have seen gnome 40 if you’ve ever used linux that’s because gnome is still on the beta stages and if you’re using Ubuntu you’ll have to wait for the 10 update you can use a beta of gnome 40 in a fedora beta. Now we can get into the facts of gnome 40 first a lot like macOS the dock is on the bottom and you can see a lot in the picture now instead of showing all the windows when you press the activity button it shows you all the desktop when we get a later beta or more information. Please come back to eddy4ai.com or donate, thanks, Edward.

Ubuntu 21.04 beta

In 2021 April 1 the new Ubuntu beta of 21.04 (Hirsute Hippo) was released you might notice the instead of being named 21.00 it was named 21.04 that’s because Ubuntu has 2 releases each year a April LTS release (Long Term) and an October feature release but just so you the Ubuntu version names are based on the time they were released like 4/1/21 for this new one. Now let’s get into the details of the new beta since the usual April release is a long-term release it isn’t very feature packed like it doesn’t have gnome 40 which is sad but it does have new icons and there’s a new option called Ubuntu OEM install (for manufacturers) witch means that there could be a Linux pc the only difference I see in the desktop I the new icons. Please come back to eddy4ai.com, Thanks, Edward

This photo is from the test I made.

OS X development

The development of OS X (MacOS 10) was a vary complex and long process that goes all the way back to 1985. In 1984 after the first Macintosh was released Steve Jobs was kicked out of apple, when he was away he created NeXT I made a post about OpenStep but a recap is: NeXT made computers that ran Nextstep, Nextstep is a lot like OS X but in 1988 the only problem is that these computer sold for about as much a Mac Pro with all it’s accessories so NeXT created OpenStep that could run on most computers you could also build on to the OpenStep technology to create your own OS like GNUstep. When apple bought NeXT Steve Jobs became apple’s C.E.O again, Steve Jobs made MacOS 8&9 to keep macOS alive and created Mac OS X Rhapsody DDR 1&2 Rhapsody was built on MacOS 9 and OpenStep and after Rhapsody was created apple made the OS X development preview with DD1-4 DDR 3 was the first development preview to introduce the aqua interface. In Mac world 2000 Steve Jobs announced the release of the OS X public beta for testing, soon after OS X 10.0 Cheetah was released after that apple focused on small improvements to macOS. New Ubuntu

So soon the new beta of ubuntu 21.04 but 32 bit support for ubuntu mate will end. On april they’re is going to be a new download link on ubuntu.com, and if ubuntu follows it’s pattern this next release will have LTS (Long Term Support). When the beta will be released I will test it out and make a post. The only catch of this release is that it’s not 32 bit and 32 bit support for ubuntu 18.04 will end. I can’t wait to make a post a the new ubuntu release, please come back to eddy4ai.com, thanks, Edward.

Ubuntu 4.10

So few days ago I made a for VMs for Ubuntu 4.10, 5.04, 5.10, 6.04, 6.10. You might ask wait why didn’t install Ubuntu 1.0 well it’s because Ubuntu releases are based on the launch date. Ubuntu 4.10 was released on October 2004. Ubuntu was made to build on Debian in the early releases of Ubuntu didn’t have USB mouse support and in VMs some parts of the screen I wasn’t able to move my mouse in. Ubuntu 4.10 was the first release of Ubuntu and it the gmone 2.0 desktop. Soon I might make more posts about Ubuntu, please come back to eddy4ai.com for more, Thanks, Edward

This picture of the Ubuntu 4.10 login screen is from a VM I have.
