The intel transition from apple

In 2004 apple was thinking about switching to a different CPU to build they’re computers because the current CPU(power pc) got to hot that’s why no iBook G5 exist. So in MacWorld 2006 Steve Jobs came up to stage and announced that the new apple computers would run on Intel instead of power pc. That day apple announced the iMac Intel (not G5), the MacBook and MacBook Pro. You should also know that the G3, G4 naming pattern was dropped because the computers no longer run on power pc(power pc G3, G4), the power book was rebranded to the MacBook Pro, and the iBook was rebranded to MacBook. OS X development

The development of OS X (MacOS 10) was a vary complex and long process that goes all the way back to 1985. In 1984 after the first Macintosh was released Steve Jobs was kicked out of apple, when he was away he created NeXT I made a post about OpenStep but a recap is: NeXT made computers that ran Nextstep, Nextstep is a lot like OS X but in 1988 the only problem is that these computer sold for about as much a Mac Pro with all it’s accessories so NeXT created OpenStep that could run on most computers you could also build on to the OpenStep technology to create your own OS like GNUstep. When apple bought NeXT Steve Jobs became apple’s C.E.O again, Steve Jobs made MacOS 8&9 to keep macOS alive and created Mac OS X Rhapsody DDR 1&2 Rhapsody was built on MacOS 9 and OpenStep and after Rhapsody was created apple made the OS X development preview with DD1-4 DDR 3 was the first development preview to introduce the aqua interface. In Mac world 2000 Steve Jobs announced the release of the OS X public beta for testing, soon after OS X 10.0 Cheetah was released after that apple focused on small improvements to macOS. Ubuntu 4.10

So few days ago I made a for VMs for Ubuntu 4.10, 5.04, 5.10, 6.04, 6.10. You might ask wait why didn’t install Ubuntu 1.0 well it’s because Ubuntu releases are based on the launch date. Ubuntu 4.10 was released on October 2004. Ubuntu was made to build on Debian in the early releases of Ubuntu didn’t have USB mouse support and in VMs some parts of the screen I wasn’t able to move my mouse in. Ubuntu 4.10 was the first release of Ubuntu and it the gmone 2.0 desktop. Soon I might make more posts about Ubuntu, please come back to eddy4ai.com for more, Thanks, Edward

This picture of the Ubuntu 4.10 login screen is from a VM I have.

Pi hole

So after the Minecraft server project with balena cloud 1 of things I tried I deployed the Minecraft server with balena hub 1 of the things I saw was pi hole. I looked in pi hole to pi hole with the pi hole website pi-hole.net, pi hole is software that you can install on your raspberry pi to turn it to a DNS as blocking device unlike other software when your device ask for a blacklisted domain it just won’t ask the router and I know this works because I tested out with speedtest.net and huaren.us. After running the command for the pi hole installation you will need to set some settings it will ask you if you want to use a eth0 (Ethernet) or wlan0 (wifi) choose for the next questions I just pressed ok for all of them but you can do it definitely, once it’s done to set it up on a iPad just go into settings right next to your wifi SSID press the I button then press DNS, Manual and enter your raspberry pi’s hostname. Minecraft server part 3

So recap: 1 day I wanted to make a Minecraft server with a raspberry pi so I tried to install it with balena cloud but that failed, so I went on the Minecraft website and wanted to install a Java server it doesn’t work with bedrock (pocket) edition. Soon after that I searched Minecraft server on google and 1 of the links were a beta of a bedrock server so I downloaded and unzipped it and ran the bedrock server on deepin drive. Now I have a Minecraft server not on a raspberry pi so I failed and didn’t fail. So that’s the end of The Minecraft server project, please come back to eddy4ai.com for more, Thanks, Edward.

OpenStep

When Steve Jobs left apple after the Macintosh was released he created NEXT I’ll probably make a post about it but NEXT made a open source OS that led to the development of of OS X. OpenStep is based NextStep so It’s just a open source NextStep. The first generation of NEXT computers could have color and remember the computers were from 1988, windows at the time had only 8 colors, OpenStep has 32 bit color. OpenStep is like mashup of OS X and windows 3.1 with a dock, program manager, a separate window for a app menu. Please come back to eddy4ai.com for the NEXT post or more, thanks, Edward!

Sending drug delivering robots into the brain

Michael Shpigelmacher who is a robotics geek wanted to build the real-life equivalent of technology from the 1960s film “Fantastic Voyage”, the one where the submarine crew is shrunk to “About the size of a microbe” and sent on a mission to repair a scientist’s brain. Now 5 years later, he has a company called “Bionaut Labs” where a millimeter-sized, screw-shaped, cell-penatrating robot, designed to drop biological bombs on command to precise spots in the body. VC has helped the biotech collecting more than $20M to push their remote-controlled therapeutic toward the clinic for brain disorders, ideally by 2023. The biotech said there is no other company that does remote-controlled micro-robotics in the industry. There are some similar techniques from other biotech, but those can only go to gut, but not the brain. The goal for Bionaut is to broaden the therapeutic window for drug . The company chose to focus first on neurology because it’s an area with many failures. Please check the Bionaut site for more:

Deepin Linux

Deepin Linux is the Linux Distribution with the deepin desktop based on Debian Linux. Deepin 20.01 is my daily driver with, a built in boot maker, 4 themes, 4 mouse themes, a pdf reader, and a lot more. Deepin is vary good with older computers Tony and I were able to install it on a 2008 computer that ran windows vista. Deepin is also vary good at replacing main drivers I think it’s because Deepin desktop looks a lot like macOS, but I do have windows 10 on my computer. Thanks for visiting eddy4ai.com please come back for more, Thanks, Edward.
